Bridgeport Utility Board (BUB)
Consists of five members.
Members are the Mayor and four (4) members appointed by City Council. One member shall be a professional registered engineer under the applicable laws of the State of West Virginia and is not required to be a resident of the City. The other members shall be residents of the City. Engineer is paid $100.00 per month. Other members receive $50.00 per month.
Mayor acts as Chairman of the Bridgeport Utility Board and members elect a Vice Chairman. Members may also designate a secretary and treasurer who need not be a member of the Board.
Terms are five (5) years.
Power, duties and functions:
Subject to the ordinances adopted by City Council, the Board shall have full and complete supervision, management and control of the waterworks system and sewerage system, including the maintenance, operations, improvements and extension thereof, which shall be combined as a single system (the "system"). The Board shall also have full and complete supervision, management and control of the stormwater drainage system, including the maintenance, operations, improvements and extension thereof.
Meets when necessary; third Thursday of each month.
